Meet the Press (NBC) — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia headlines this Sunday’s television talk shows as he begins active pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.
This Week (ABC) — Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appears to assess the prospects of her party’s presidential hopefuls in her decisive early primary state. And Sheila Bair, chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., stops by to discuss the nation’s sluggish economic recovery.
Face the Nation (CBS) — House speaker, Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio)
State of the Union (CNN) — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) continue the conservative fiscal position.
Former Clinton White House press secretary Joe Lockhart and former President George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson also assess the evolving 2012 presidential race. And retired Adm. Dennis Blair and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Negroponte – both directors of national intelligence in the last Bush administration – discuss the widespread unrest in the Middle East.
Fox News Sunday — Texas Rep. Ron Paul – who’s making his third White House bid. Additionally, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and his counterpart, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), offer an update on the ongoing congressional negotiations with the White House to raise the nation’s debt limit and cut spending.
Newsmakers (CSPAN) — Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resource Committee, is interviewed by Timothy Gardner of Reuters and Steven Dennis of Roll Call.
Political Capital (Bloomberg TV) — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder makes a rare weekend appearance to discuss a wide-range of pressing issues.
60 Minutes (CBS) — In the evening, Defense Secretary Robert Gates to discuss the death of Osama bin Laden and the war in Afghanistan, among other issues, with anchor Katie Couric.
